Review Question 12
A number of
complications arise from the fact that Java uses two bytes of memory to represent a
character, and most other programming languages use a single byte. In fact, normally a
byte and a character are equivalent. These complications could be
overcome if text files were written such that each character was two bytes and not one (as
Java requires). What would be the implications of this for a Java program?
